Masquerade Ball a Success for Commission & Charities

On December 12, 2015, over $170,000 was raised by three organizations who came together to host the Caring for Missouri Capitol Masquerade Ball.  The Missouri State Capitol Commission, along with the Missouri Association for Community Action and the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence jointly hosted the evening of music, masks and dancing.  A special live auction, featuring exclusive prints of the Capitol’s art, was the highlight of the evening, totaling over $48,000.  The Commission’s portion of the event proceeds will be used to continue the restoration of the building’s murals, as well as fund initial expansion plans of the Missouri Veteran’s Memorial, which is located on the grounds of the state capitol.
