At their meeting on January 12, 2015, the MSCC approved to fund the first phase of a comprehensive assessment of the interior murals and paintings of the Capitol. The project, which includes an inspection report and treatment proposal for 50 lunette murals and paintings on the second and third floors of the building, is the first step in a larger plan to assess the condition of the massive murals adorning the rotunda, dome, and House chamber. Efforts are underway to raise funds to complete the project by the end of calendar year 2015.
