On January 4, 2017, the Missouri State Capitol Commission hosted a celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the laying of the capstone of the capitol dome. The event, which featured exhibits by the Missouri State Archives, the Missouri State Museum, and the State Historical Society of Missouri, was held in the rotunda of the state Capitol.
